As this class comes to an end, I think about the collaborative community that we've built here and all that I have gained from this experience. I think the consequences of this learning community, especially about the international early childhood field has been 1) greater awareness of the unknown 2) expanded vision of early childhood as a whole and 3) passion for learning more about the education of children around the world. This experience has not only made me grow as an educator but has opened my eyes to things I never, ever thought of.
My goal in the near future with respect to international awareness is to learn more about Cuba and their early childhood education practices. That is my country or origin and I hope to visit very soon so it would be great to learn and then go see for myself. I'm really looking forward to it!
I also think that our collaborative community has gleamed great insight on our learning's throughout this course. It is amazing what teachers can teach other teachers. Learning about the way teachers teach in other countries was definitely an eye opener in this course and continuing to learn about these would prove to be useful for us. It has been a great course and thank you for all your insights that I learned from.
ReplyDeleteJanet, it would be so interesting to have the opportunity to explore early childhood in Cuba. I have always had a great interest to visit Italy maybe I can sell a visit there by saying I need to explore early childhood there. I would be very interested to hear of any insights after your visit. Good luck and thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteIt is important to expand the vision of early childhood education. The vision that promotes academic, developmental, health, and wellness for all the children in the education programs. Therefore, it is essential to be aware of the issues and trends that impacts early childhood education. Nevertheless, it is beneficial for teachers to know how to turn negative outcomes into a positive one.
ReplyDeleteHi Jeannette,
ReplyDeleteIt was great reading your posts. We all benefit as educators from continuous learning and this also help build passion for early childhood education.
I hope you get the opportunity to build partnership with early childhood professionals in your home country in an effort to build on and strengthen the system.
All the best.
Hi Jeannette, I enjoyed reading your thoughts again this week. It has been a very eye-opening experience to look to other countries and see how their practices and focus compare with ours here in the states. I hope you get to visit Cuba in the near future and see first hand the early childhood services and programs. It would be wonderful to go and visit other countries and experience not only the culture but learn of their programs and expectations for children. I hope to get to know of your goals and experiences as we continue on in this program together. Cindy Ferguson
